If you’ve ever had the displeasure of using public transportation services, then you have my sympathies.
There are entire social media accounts dedicated to just how bad their services can be.
Now you’d expect that transportation services that millions of people heavily rely on (and a service that charges money) to get to where they need to go on a daily basis would run a heck of a lot better than they do. To give you an idea of just how bad NJ Transit is, for example, for a brief period when I lived in central NJ, my commute from the city was exactly the same from Manhattan than when I lived in Northern NJ. That’s right, a 44 mile difference didn’t matter – it still took me an hour and a half to get home from Manhattan on public transportation. Why? Just because a different transit company was in charge of my bus line
A good transportation service runs like clockwork and doesn’t make special exceptions for people who are running late for trains or buses, no matter how much they hoot and holler, run and pout, the schedule must be adhered to. And if there is a delay in service, there are back-up shuttles waiting to take people to where they need to go.
As a result, people are going to inevitably have some doors close in their faces. That’s where this Instagram account comes in. @MissedYaBus is an account dedicated to all the people out there who couldn’t make their train on time.
The account’s encouraging people to send their videos of rushing commuters trying to make their bus or train. This particular individual took a little too much glee in watching a crestfallen would-be-passenger have the doors close in their face.
Then there was this person who barely made an attempt to make their train.
Now I don’t know if these trains are just leaving on time, or if they’re a little late, or if the driver gets special pleasure out of shutting doors before all passengers can get on.
Whatever the case, it doesn’t change the fact that these people have to deal with the mild inconvenience of not making their train at the last second. Like this (wait for it) zealous scooter-er.
This guy who was disgusted with his train at the last second is probably the best video the account has to offer.
This woman with the stiff upper lip of disappointment.
At least they can keep each other company.
Then there was this woman who tried to ignore the transit employee setting up the pick.
And this commuter who briefly made eye contact with whoever was recording this.
Then there was this guy who looked like he was just celebrating and took it a little too far.
This couple that got curbed at the last second.
Who could forget this classic?
Poor woman, but how did that even happen in the first place? Did she realize she was on the wrong train at the last second or something? Maybe she smelled cookies and turned around quickly? Who knows.
