HIGH POINT, NC (WGHP) — The sound of laughter and cheering fills the air on a new sport court at Johnson Street Global School in High Point. The students have this new addition to play on all thanks to the hard work of three community partners.
“It’s just amazing. I mean, that is basically the premise we try to get, you know, kids smiling, active, engaging, moving, and just having fun, taking the pressures off of everyday life,” said Mike Kennedy, the co-founder of Beyond Sports, who built the court.

Beyond Sports, the Congdon Foundation and the High Point Community Foundation joined together to create this fun space and recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the successful collaboration.
“We’re very excited about this,” said Paul Lessard of the High Point Community Foundation. “I’ve always believed that true soccer players are born out in the neighborhood and not necessarily on the field. And I think this is going to just create a whole new generation of players. I’m very excited about it.”…
