PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – Mayor Carletta Davis on Monday fired back at criticism leveled by City Council members that she has failed to provide financial information.
The mayor held a news conference to reaffirm her commitment to open government and said she has made no attempt to hide information from council members or the public.
“Let me be absolutely clear. Those accusations and allegations are false,” she said. “The rumors are not true. The records do not support them. The facts do not support them. We welcome oversight, accountability, transparency, and we remain focused on fixing the problems that Prichard has faced for years.”…
