NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Duffer Brothers, known for the hit show “Stranger Things,” are back as executive producers on “The Boroughs.” The new Netflix sci-fi series was filmed primarily in New Mexico, with production stretching from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to Las Vegas.
“The Boroughs,” created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, stars Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Geena Davis as residents of a retirement community of the same name. The group must band together to stop an otherworldly threat, exploring a story of lost time and mysterious creatures.
The production employed over 2,000 New Mexico cast and crew and incorporated clean technology, like batteries and solar, to power the set. All eight episodes are now streaming on Netflix, where the show garnered 5.6 million views in its first four days…
