An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:14 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 3:45 p.m. for Columbia and Dutchess counties.
Residents can look for wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
“At 3:14 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Millerton, or 16 miles southwest of Great Barrington, moving southeast at 20 mph,” comments the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”…
