Restauranteur Yered Cantu is putting the same dedication, attention to detail and homage to his Chihuahuan roots into a new restaurant, named Sunú Taqueria Molino in Downtown El Paso.
Sunú opened Thursday, June 11 – just in time for watching the World Cup 2026 – in a former restaurant space Cantu owned at 610 N. Mesa St. The previous restaurant, Conico Cocina Mexicana, was in operation for 3 1/2 years.
Cantu said the ambiance at this new restaurant is designed to be more comfortable and relaxed than at his previous restaurant, while still reflecting his northern Mexico roots.
