Weekend heat, then heavy rain and flood concerns

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Triple-digit heat index values will continue through the weekend before a much wetter pattern develops early next week, bringing the threat of heavy rainfall and flooding.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Another hot and humid day is in store, with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s. But, when combined with the humidity, heat index values will continue to reach around 105 degrees.

A stray shower or storm is possible later in the day, but most areas will remain dry and hot.
