BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Newly released police documents are providing new details about the DUI arrest of former Kern County District Attorney Edward Jagels, 77.
According to the report, officers were called around 4:30 p.m. on June 1 to the area of Stockdale Highway and Calloway Drive after receiving reports of a driver passed out behind the wheel. Police said the driver was later seen swerving through traffic and hitting the center median multiple times.
Officers pulled over Jagels and said he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and the odor of alcohol on his breath. A breath test reportedly showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.153%, nearly double the legal limit…
