The hot, dry conditions of the last few years have caused lake levels to drop across Texas and around El Paso. Now the past is rising from the depths in some places.
The last few summers have been way hot and extra dry. No big news flash there, we’re all painfully aware of this but, as scary as that is, it’s had one interesting side effect. It’s bringing back the past as sunken cities begin to re-arise.
Entire towns have been flooded to create reservoirs and lakes around Texas and New Mexico.
Sunken Texas Cities
Falcon Lake is near Laredo, Texas. The lake itself is manmade, (just about every lake in Texas is, believe it or not), and once the dam was finished, the entire town of Falcon was flooded to create the reservoir. Now, in places, you can once again walk its streets. Check out some pics here…
