California man charged by Hendersonville police in card theft

Hendersonville police last week arrested a California man amid allegations of retail theft related to the purchase of gift cards.

According to court records, Hendersonville police were notified on Wednesday, June 10, of alleged fraudulent transactions at the Home Depot store in Madison. Investigators saw the alleged suspect’s vehicle and recorded the license plate, and later that day received a notice from the city’s License Plater Reader system that the vehicle had entered the Hendersonville city limits.

The vehicle was located at the Publix grocery store on Indian Lake Boulevard, where police reportedly observed Sam Guan, 58, of West Covina, Calif., purchasing multiple gift cards. Records indicated that eight different credit cards Guan allegedly attempted to use were declined but that six transactions were completed…
