A pipe burst at the VA Medical Center in downtown Augusta on Friday evening. Water flooded portions of three floors. Staff moved all patients and workers from the affected areas. The leak caused damage over the weekend at the Georgia facility.
Officials from the public affairs office said all staff and patients in the impacted zones were moved without incident. No injuries occurred. Personnel at the medical center worked throughout the weekend to restore operations in the damaged sections.
