LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Before Friday, Muslims in South Lansing would have to head to Old Town or East Lansing to visit an Islamic Center — but not anymore.
Now, worshipers on the south side of the city will have their own place, the Islamic Center of South Lansing, not just for prayer, but for community.
The Islamic Society of Greater Lansing’s newly opened center isn’t in a traditional worship building — instead, its home is a strip mall at the intersection of Cedar Street and Jolly Road.
