Extreme heat set to kick off early July for the Mid-South

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Very hot weather will lead up to the 4th of July weekend.

The hottest weather of the year so far is set to overtake the Mid-South, including the Tennessee Valley, by the end of June into early July. Temperatures will soar well into the 90s for several days.

So far in 2026, the hottest weather we’ve had has produced temperatures in the low 90s. The hottest day was June 11, when Nashville International Airport checked in with a high temperature of 93°…
