HONOLULU (KHON2) — On Saturday, June 20, a parade of hot rods and classic cars drove through Ka Makana Alii’s parking lot to celebrate Kellan Nakamura, a 10-year-old Waipahu boy who loves monster trucks.
“I thought maybe he’d just be able to look at some cars and he would just be able to walk around, but this is more than we expected for sure,” said Shari Nakamura, Kellan’s mom. “Everybody’s been very generous.”
It was an exciting experience for Kellan as the community gathered together to say hi, wave signs with his name and give him toys. After the parade, he was able check out the Bleizn FX car club rides up-close and meet the drivers.
