Multi-year construction project on the 190 begins Tuesday

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Slow down and stay alert — that’s the message from State Police as phase one of a more than $61 million construction project on the 190 begins Tuesday.

“New York State Police will be out there. We anticipate the 190 construction zone will be an elaborate but also sometimes complex environment where drivers really need to pay attention,” Trooper James O’Callaghan, Public Information Officer with NYSP said. “Even if this is your A to B every single day, really pay attention every day to see those minor or major changes in speed reduction and or lane changes.”

The Thruway Authority’s ‘Pavement Rehabilitation and Safety Enhancement Project’ will repair nearly four miles on the 190 between Exit One and Exit Five over three construction seasons…
