Alabama Showcases State History and Innovation at Great American State Fair

MONTGOMERY, AL — Governor Kay Ivey announced Thursday that Alabama is participating in the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., as part of the nationwide celebration marking America’s 250th anniversary.

According to the governor’s office, the Great American State Fair highlights the people, landscapes and traditions of all 56 U.S. states and territories. Each participating pavilion is designed to showcase the unique history, culture and contributions of its respective state while celebrating the nation’s shared heritage.

“Alabama is proud to be a part of America’s 250th birthday celebration in our nation’s capital,” Governor Ivey said in a statement. “People from all over the world will be able to witness our state’s diverse strengths and rich history. From agricultural heritage to pivotal moments in the civil rights movement, Alabama has redefined liberty and equality in America.”…
