NWS confirms 2 tornadoes during Friday evening storms in the Ozarks

DOUGLAS/WEBSTER COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) -The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes in southwest Missouri during Friday evening’s storms.

According to the NWS survey, an EF-1 tornado was reported in Douglas County at 6:03 p.m. The tornado had a path length of about a half mile, spanned 75 yards wide, and had estimated peak winds of 95 mph.

The tornado occurred a mile southwest of Mount Zion, lasting approximately two minutes. Damage consisted of snapped trunks, uprooted trees, and large branches thrown around, the weather service said…
