Indianapolis, Indiana – A federal jury in Indianapolis has convicted Laurens Jean-Francois, a 23-year-old Haitian national, in a pair of armed robberies that prosecutors said unfolded over three tense days in July 2025 and left two workers facing the same weapon at close range.
According to the Department of Justice, Jean-Francois was found guilty of two counts of interference with commerce by robbery, two counts of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by an illegal alien. The verdict followed a federal trial before U.S. District Judge Richard L. Young, who will sentence Jean-Francois at a later date.
