Buffalo man charged with manslaughter in Gatchell Street slaying

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been charged with manslaughter in connection to allegedly beating a man to death on Gatchell Street in May, Buffalo police said Monday.

Charles Williams, 37, is accused of beating 53-year-old Jason Sorden on the first block of Gatchell in the early morning hours of May 1. Sorden died on May 17.

Williams was arrested last week and was charged with first-degree manslaughter. Police said Williams was on parole at the time of the arrest.
