SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield City Council members have voted to pass a 120-day administrative delay regarding data centers at a special meeting on Monday morning.
The bill’s language outlines the delay; it would “provide the City with the opportunity to gather information, evaluate best practices, engage stakeholders, and establish a transparentand predictable framework for future projects. During the review period, staff wouldassess potential impacts and develop recommendations regarding zoning standards,infrastructure considerations, operational requirements, and community benefitexpectations. “
As of now, the moratorium is set to expire on November 17, 2026, which would allow “City Council to introduce a two-reading bill within 120 days of the passage of this Ordinance and take final action prior to the expiration of the delay.”…
