SAN ANTONIO – A man convicted in a deadly nightclub parking lot shooting has been sentenced to life in prison.
Ruben Cantu was sentenced “to Life in prison” on June 29, 2026, after being found guilty by a jury in June 2026 of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a press release from the Office of the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe D. Gonzales.
The district attorney’s office said Judge Kristina Escalona, presiding over the 186th District Court, handed down the sentence for the murder of Ricky Marquez Jr., who was fatally shot during what prosecutors described as a parking lot altercation at a local nightclub.
