300 pounds of fireworks collected during Eugene-Springfield Amnesty Days

EUGENE, Ore. — The Metro Explosives Disposal Unit reports they collected from the public approximately 300 pounds of fireworks, “a productive weekend,” the Eugene Police Department said of the illegal fireworks Amnesty Days.

One person turned in “rail road torpedoes,” which are commercial explosives, the department said.

This year, there was no Eugene drop-off location on Saturday due to staffing required at multiple events in the city.
