NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee caregivers providing care for family members diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia can now apply for state-funded financial assistance of up to $6,000.
The “Caring for Caregivers Law” aims to help some of the 386,000 Tennesseans providing care for loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia across the state.
“This is a start to acknowledging the work that caregivers are doing and providing some support,” Dr. Megan Schwalm, Executive Director for the Tennessee Caregiver Coalition, told News 2.
