Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling has announced he will retire in coming weeks, ending a three-decade career with the department.
Snelling was confirmed as police superintendent in 2023, and announced that he will retire from his post effective on July 15.
“Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to give back to the city I love through different assignments across the department.
