Minnesota detectives identify remains of Ohio woman missing 33 years

In 1993, a severed human head was found in eastern Minnesota. The next day, a human foot was found in Pig’s Eye Lake in St. Paul. Investigators were unable to identify the remains — until now.

The woman, a Columbus, Ohio, native, was 27 at the time of her death.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced on June 11 they were finally able to trace the remains to Denise Hartley, 27, of Columbus’ South Side. Hartley disappeared in 1993, and her last known location was St. Paul, Minnesota, the sheriff’s office said…
