BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Greenacres man was among seven people arrested during a multi-agency human trafficking enforcement operation conducted around World Cup matches in South Florida that also led to the rescue of 10 victims.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office identified the Greenacres resident as Zubaer Ashar, 27, who was arrested as part of Operation Red Card, an initiative led by BSO’s Division of Homeland Security and Cyber Crime and the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The operation, announced on Thursday, targeted people seeking to exploit minors for commercial sex acts and involved partnerships with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies throughout South Florida.
