A 39-year-old man violently attacked both of his parents, leaving his father dead and his mother seriously injured. The case has now drawn attention not only because of the brutality alleged in court records, but also because investigators say the surviving mother first tried to shield her son by reporting a robbery that detectives later found no evidence to support.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Tyler Lachmann, was arrested Monday, June 29, after deputies responded to a home in the 600 block of West Placita de la Poza in Pima County, Arizona. His father, 73-year-old Chris Lachmann, was found dead inside the home, while his 72-year-old wife was found with significant injuries and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to local reporting citing the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Lachmann is facing charges of first-degree murder and domestic violence vulnerable adult abuse.
