A hiker was rescued by helicopter after hurting herself in a fall along a popular trail in the Columbia River Gorge.
At 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and Corbett Fire received reports a hiker from New York had fallen east of Angels Rest Trailhead, 47500 E. Historic Columbia River Highway. That spurred a coordinated multi-agency operation to rescue her.
Corbett firefighters and MCSO deputies reached the woman first and conducted a medical assessment. Because of the rugged terrain, a standard carry-out was deemed too unsafe.
