MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) — The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal Fourth of July weekend boating crash on the Willamette River near Sauvie Island.
Deputies said the crash was reported at 11:24 p.m. Saturday, July 4, after a 911 caller told dispatchers a boat had run ashore in the 14900 block of Northwest Gillihan Road. The Sauvie Island Fire Department, American Medical Response and sheriff’s deputies responded.
A woman was found dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. Paramedics took four other people — including the boat’s operator — to a hospital. None of them had life-threatening injuries. All the boat’s occupants are believed to be adults…
