An Atlanta man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after a jury convicted him of operating an investment recovery fraud scheme that targeted elderly victims by falsely claiming to be a federal agent capable of recovering money they had previously lost in investments.
Joshua Aaron Holmes, 44, received a sentence of 168 months in prison from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee following convictions for conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, mail fraud and wire fraud.
In addition to the prison sentence, Holmes was ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay $936,215 in restitution to victims.
