Wichita man charged in deadly shooting outside American Legion to undergo competency evaluation

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A man accused in a deadly north Wichita shooting outside of American Legion Post 273 in March will undergo a mental evaluation to determine if he is competent to stand trial.

40-year-old Tristan Miles faces charges of intentional and premeditated first-degree murder. The charges are related to the Mar. 2 shooting death of 56-year-old Darnell Guiden from Wichita.

Miles reportedly called 911 before officers arrived to report that he’d shot “Darnell.”…
