Conditions will be quiet as we continue into the first full week of July. However, storm chances will soon be on the rise again. After we have hot high temperatures in the 90s this afternoon, a shower or storm could skim Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska tonight. Any rainfall will be short-lived. A better chance for storms develops late Wednesday. They will begin to bubble up during the afternoon to the west. More storms will gradually fill in through the evening, some could be strong to severe.
Storms will stick around into the overnight but will eventually be reduced down to a few leftover showers by Thursday morning. Another wave of storms moves into the area Thursday evening and there will be another chance for some to be strong to severe. They will track west to east through the night. This trend repeats Friday but a Saturday storm chance will mainly impact South Central Kansas. After today, the coolest day will be Friday with highs reaching the upper 80s and low 90s. Otherwise, the summertime sizzle continues for the foreseeable future.
