SW Portland neighborhood facing parking problems due to construction

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Southwest Portland neighborhood is battling some serious parking problems due to construction on a new apartment complex.

Neighbors said their limited street parking is overrun, and they are concerned it will get even worse.

Construction is underway on the Barbur Apartments—a 150-unit affordable housing complex paid for in part with Metro bond funds.

But as that work is happening, several people in the neighborhood adjacent to the site said the street parking they rely on is filled every day by construction workers…
