University of Virginia Closes Alumni Gmail Accounts

(TNS) — The University of Virginia has deactivated the Google email accounts for alumni and former students.

UVa says the Gmail service had started to cost more money and that the accounts, many of which are inactive or rarely used, pose a cybersecurity risk. Still, hundreds of account owners are protesting the move.
