Roll R Way settles complaint over outside food policy at Pennsylvania skating rinks

PENNSYLVANIA (WHP) — A Pennsylvania skating rink operator has agreed to amend its outside food and drink policy after federal officials ruled it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to a news release.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced a civil settlement for Roll R Way, which runs skating centers in York, Chambersburg, and Donora, after turning away families with children who have Type 1 diabetes.

Federal officials received several complaints alleging that families were turned away because they brought small amounts of food and drink to help regulate their children’s blood sugar levels…
