One dead in Asheville crash after body found in underbrush

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – The Asheville Police Department is investigating a crash after the driver’s body was found in an underbrush, authorities say.

Officers said they responded to a vehicle rollover collision at approximately 1:11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7. The collision reportedly occurred on I-240 West near Amboy Road.

Upon arrival, officers located an unoccupied 2007 Toyota Corolla, and a witness at the scene said they saw a person walking away from the vehicle, shortly after the crash. Officers searched the immediate area, but did not locate anyone…
