EATON COUNTY (News 10) – A Vietnam veteran whose medals were stolen from his Lansing home last March has received replacements, presented at an event Thursday featuring Congressman Tom Barrett and Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins.
Robert Haywood, a U.S. Marine Corps sergeant and Vietnam veteran, was presented with a new set of medals he earned during his tour in Vietnam. The presentation took place following a roundtable discussion focused on improving care for veterans.
Purple Heart carries personal meaning for Haywood
For Haywood, the Purple Heart represents more than a military decoration.
