When Jacoby Landry bought the old Northgate Mall in Lafayette a year ago, he walked inside the anchor space that had recently housed a Planet Fitness.
This, he thought, could be a starting point.
In order to get a revenue stream going, he created his own anchor tenant when he opened Xtreme Health Club with a goal of getting 500 to 600 members. Membership is now at 950, and the mall — rebranded as The Hub — has gone from 14 tenants to 36 with increased foot traffic on the weekends…
