MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WBMA) — The Jefferson County Commission has been awarded a $70,694 grant from Gov. Kay Ivey to implement a substance abuse treatment program for individuals incarcerated at the Jefferson County Jail.
The program is designed to support inmates experiencing substance use disorders by combining medication-assisted treatment with counseling services. In addition to treatment, participants will receive regular drug screenings and referrals to aftercare programs to help support long-term recovery following their release.
