Three displaced after fire at Syracuse home on East Willow Street, officials say

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Three people were displaced late Friday after a fire tore through the rear of a four-apartment building on Syracuse’s East Willow Street.

Syracuse firefighters responded just after 11:00 p.m. on Friday to a reported fire on East Willow St., with reports that occupants might be trapped inside. Crews from Station 12 on West Genesee Street arrived to find heavy fire visible at the rear of the two-story residential structure.

Firefighters stretched hose lines to the building, quickly knocked down the exterior fire and then advanced inside to continue extinguishment operations while searching for occupants. Multiple hose lines were used as crews worked throughout the building to put out the fire and confirm no one was trapped…
