A recent Northside graduate who was shot and killed at a Lee County party early Saturday morning July 11, 2026, is being remembered fondly by those who knew him best. Anthony Onochie was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds at 11:33 am at Piedmont Midtown after being transported from the scene of a large gathering in Alabama.
First responders arrived at the scene just after 1 am on Lee Road 197 where gun fire erupted at the gathering. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency investigating the death of the 18-year-old.
The Northside Patriots football team issued a statement on social media after the deadly shooting. “Our hearts break for the loss of one of our own. Anthony, a recent graduate and soon to be student at Georgia State, was a beloved member of our football program and school. Our prayers are with his entire family and the entire Northside community.
