CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A woman is dead after a shooting at a southeast Charlotte apartment complex, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Just after 7 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 7100 block of Wallace Road. This is an apartment complex between Monroe Road and E. Independence Blvd.
The victim, later identified as 31-year-old Jaqualla Monique Simmons, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Medic, two other people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
CMPD said they recovered a firearm at the scene and that everyone has been accounted for. No additional people are being sought in connection with this incident…
