Traffic along eastbound Galena Avenue is reduced to a single lane between Park Boulevard and Illinois Route 26 as construction begins on infrastructure upgrades in the area.
The restrictions are now in place, according to a community announcement, and coincide with the start of storm sewer and sidewalk improvements by Kelsey Excavating.
Work is scheduled to begin in the morning and is expected to continue through July, weather permitting. The project will start on the south side of Galena Avenue before shifting to the north side once that phase is completed.
