Lanes Reopen After Deadly Four Vehicle Crash Closes Route 30 in Coatesville Overnight

COATESVILLE, PA — Traffic started moving again on Route 30 in Coatesville Tuesday morning after a deadly overnight crash involving a semi-truck and at least three other vehicles shut down part of the roadway.

Westbound lanes on the Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass reopened around 6 a.m. after being closed in both directions between the Coatesville and Chester City exits since about 8 p.m. Monday.

What police said about the crash

Police said the collision was fatal and involved four vehicles, but they did not immediately identify the person who died or say whether anyone else was hurt.

Investigators also had not said what caused the wreck. The closure remained in place for hours while crews and officers worked the scene.
