(FOX40.COM) — An investigation is underway after a North Highlands home was destroyed in a fire on Monday afternoon.
The flames extensively damaged the home in the 4400 block of Sycamore Way, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.
Fire officials said the location of the home — set back from the roadway — presented “initial challenges” for firefighters, in addition to the several roaming horses on the property that needed to be safely secured.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported…
