Even if you’re not an insurance claims adjuster or law enforcement officer, here’s a statement that sounds accurate. St. Louis, Missouri is among the least safe driving cities in America now and there’s new data to prove that point, but there’s a little good news included also.
Study Finds has just shared the safest (or not) cities to drive in across America based on Allstate’s 2026 Best Drivers Report. The way they figured the safest cities to drive in is interesting as they calculated the average number of years between collisions and the comparison to the national average. What they learned about St. Louis specifically is a bit conflicted. Here are some key stats:
- Average number of years between collisions in St. Louis – 7.84
- Risk of collision compared to national average – 38% higher
- St. Louis ranks 158 out of 200 for safe driving
But, there’s good news about driving in St. Louis, too. That #158 ranking is actually an improvement of 17 from the year prior. The takeaway? It still sucks to drive in and around St. Louis, but it’s slightly less annoying and dangerous…
