ST. LOUIS – A piece of history is rolling along the train tracks on the eastern leg of its tour this month, and it will be making appearances in St. Louis this weekend.
As of Monday, the Big Boy No. 4014 locomotive is currently traveling through Ohio and into Indiana. By the end of the weekend, however, the 1.2-million-pound train will make a pit stop in the Gateway City.
The locomotive has gained an immense amount of popularity as it is one of the eight “Big Boys” remaining that were used to haul equipment during World War II, with No. 4014 being the only one still on the tracks. It returned to service in 2019…
