Baby bison born at the Sedgwick County Zoo

WICHITA, Kan (KSNW) — An American bison calf was born at the Sedgwick County Zoo on Tuesday morning.

The zoo said the male calf was born to Jade and Thunder. Jade and the baby are doing well, and guests may even be able to see them wandering their habitat together from the overlook.

A name has not been chosen yet for the calf, but the zoo said that announcement will be coming soon.

This is the fourth birth or hatching the zoo has announced since June. The Western lowland gorilla troop welcomed a baby boy, a pair of tawny frogmouth birds had their first chick, and the zoo’s first-ever successful Mexican burrowing python hatching happened early last month…
