Columbus homicide number reaches last year’s number, new crime-fighting tool added in park

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — For the first half of 2026, Columbus police reported fewer homicides than the first half of 2025, but that trend has changed.

As of July 14th, there have been 45 homicide victims in 2026. There were also 45 homicides victims from January 1 to July 13 in 2025.
