TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A state lawmaker in Ohio is pushing for new protections against price gouging on prescription drugs and medical supplies during emergencies and official shortages.
State Rep. Michele Grim, D-Toledo, recently introduced the Medical Shortage Protection Act. The bill would cap price increases at 10% above pre-shortage levels and apply during official emergencies and declared shortages.
“You shouldn’t be able to price gouge insulin, chemo, radiation, and life-saving drugs for people because that puts a lot of lives on the line,” Grim said. “It’s not fair.”…
